Is the Haktoys HAK101 Invincible Tornado Twister Worth Buying?
Let’s get the annoying thing out of the way first – the remote control on the HAK101 Invincible Tornado requires 2 x 1.5v AA batteries. Is this a problem? No. Are they included? No. Is that a problem? Yes. Seriously, in this day in age, it is not difficult to include a set of tester batteries so that, at the very least, children can briefly try out their newly opened toys without having to visit a shop for batteries! This is a frustrating oversight, but one that is easily remedied for most people.
The HAK101 Invincible Tornado itself is fantastic fun, and it’s brilliant to see an RC car that has decent range and genuine self-righting abilities. Owing to the clever set of top wheels, the HAK101 Invincible Tornado can drive into, over and through most objects without fear of being turned over, as it will simply flip back to its base and just keep on going! This kind of play is tremendous fun and means that children can be more adventurous during playtime rather than carefully navigating around every single obstacle.
With a 90 minute charge for 10 minutes playtime, it’s fair to say that the HAK101 Invincible Tornado uses its juice pretty quickly. While this alone is not too unusual, some parents may be disappointed with the length of time you can get out of the HAK101 Invincible Tornado. That being said, it is possible to improve this performance time by adding a new battery. This may be an option where children have shown that they would use the HAK101 Invincible Tornado more were it more readily available. Overall, as far as rough terrain RC cars go, the HAK101 Invincible Tornado is affordable, rugged, and tremendous fun.
