Is the LEGO Star Wars Carbon-Freezing Chamber Worth Buying?
One of the biggest things that the LEGO Star Wars Carbon-Freezing Chamber has going for it is playability. In the kit is the ability to lower Hans Solo down the platform in the elevator and bring him back up Hans encased in Carbonite. However, can Boba Fett be defeated to keep Hans from being frozen solid in a piece of Carbonite? Will Hans be successful? Only you can decide his fate!
With all of the attention on The Force Awakens, it is encouraging to see LEGO recreate now what many consider to be one of the truly iconic moments from The Empire Strikes Back in the original trilogy – the freezing chamber scene. Not only does the elevator go up and down, but the freezing chamber rotates and spins as it moves up and down. This is one of the coolest of the LEGO Star War build kits!
With that many pieces, the kit is fairly complex. Even adult experienced players will need at least 30 minutes or more to build the first time. Due to the complexity, younger children may need help assembling it, but what better way to bond with your child. Once built, it can be used as a display or taken apart and put back together again. There is plenty of room on the kit base for all of the mini-figures. Due to the number of small pieces, children under 3 should not play with this kit; children older than three should be supervised.
