But why spend a huge amount of cash on those expensive collector’s items when you can make your own Minion-themed collection at home? One project that you and your kids would enjoy doing is a collection of Minion slime jars. With just a few materials, you can decorate your kid’s room with his favorite cartoon character.

You can also bring out your child’s storyteller side. Together, you can recreate his favorite Despicable Me scenes. Some kids have a knack at memorizing movie lines and they incorporate this talent in their little roleplaying game at home. You’ll need:

Small jars

Black and gray vinyl

Small circle punch

Scissors

Denim tape

Moveable eyes

Black Americana multi-surface paint

 

Ingredients for Slime:

2 Elmer’s White Glue Bottles

1 teaspoon Borax

Yellow food coloring

Water

 

How to prepare the Minion Jars:

Step 1:

Cut two small circles out of gray vinyl using a small circle punch. Paste the moveable eyes on the two small circles.

Step 2:

Cut a strip of black vinyl that’s enough to be placed around the jar. Paste the Minion’s eyes on it.

Step 3:

Put a strip of denim tape around the bottom of the jar.

Step 4:

Paint the lid with the Black Americana multi-surface paint.

 

How to make the slime:

Step 1:

Empty content of two Elmer’s White Glue bottles into a mixing bowl.

Step 2:

Fill the empty bottles with warm water and shake well afterwards. Then, pour the water into the bowl.

Step 3:

Add in the yellow food coloring.

Step 4:

Stir the mixture well.

Step 5:

Combine ½ cup warm water with 1 teaspoon borax in a separate container.

Step 6:

Add in the water and borax mixture into the first mixing bowl.

Step 7:

Stir thoroughly until you notice that the texture of the slime thickens.

Step 8:

After a minute, remove the slime from the mixing bowl and transfer it into the Minion jar you’ve prepared earlier.

 

Jungle Slime

Add in the clear school glue and mix thoroughly with water.

How to make the glow-in-the-dark slime:

Step 1:

Empty content of 2 Elmer’s White Glue bottles into a mixing bowl.

Step 2:

Fill the 2 empty bottles with warm water and shake well. Then, pour it into the bowl.

Step 3:

Add in the neon food coloring. You can freely decide what color you prefer.

Step 4:

Put the glow-in-the-dark paint into the mixture. Stir well.

Step 5:

Mix ½ cup warm water with 1 teaspoon Borax in a separate bowl. Stir thoroughly.

Step 6:

Add in the warm water-borax mixture into the first bowl. Stir well until you achieve the slimy texture.

Step 7:

And that’s it! You can now place your glow-in-the-dark slime in a jar. Put the jar in a room with total darkness to see if the output is successful.

How to make the rock slime:

Step 1:

Pour ¼ cup clear glue into a mixing bowl.

Step 2:

Add half of the starch into the bowl. Stir well.

Step 3:

Pour ¼ cup liquid starch into the mixture. Stir the mixture thoroughly.

Rinse the aquarium rocks and dry them with absorbent cloth or paper towel.

Add the rocks into the mixture one cup at a time.
